About Me

Michael Sommers

MA, LPCC-S

Over the past 25 years, Mr. Sommers has worked with children and adolescents placed in foster care, adoptive placements, residential treatment, and in community-based settings. Most of his career has been in private agencies that work with youth exposed to trauma. He is a supervising counselor and enjoys providing clinical supervision to other counselors and those working towards their independent licensure. He also has personal experience with the lifelong process of adoption.

We have all been broken people on some level at points in our lives. Through counseling, we can improve our lives and the situations we sometimes find ourselves in. I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor is a powerful tool to utilize to move towards positive change.
