Experience:
About 15 years ago, I began working with neglected and abused children, and that experience shaped my career path. Every child I worked with had been diagnosed with a mental health disorder. This inspired me to ask deeper questions about how a child’s environment, culture, ethnicity, and race play a role in their mental health. Witnessing the resilience and challenges these young people faced inspired me to learn more, so I could better understand their experiences and support their healing.
I prioritize building a trusting relationship where clients can share openly at their own pace. I strive to honor each person’s unique story, strengths, and challenges. My role is not to “fix” but to walk alongside clients, helping them uncover their inner resources, develop new insights, and make empowered choices. I draw from evidence-based practices while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s needs. Success in therapy, to me, is not about achieving perfection or erasing pain. Rather, it’s about fostering growth, resilience, and self-compassion. If a client feels more connected to themselves, better able to navigate life’s challenges, and equipped with strategies for continued well-being, I consider that a meaningful outcome.
Personal statement:
I am always ready to offer guidance, I maintain a calm, collected demeanor, I am flexible, and bring a positive attitude to every situation. I maintain a friendly and encouraging tone, helping to create a comfortable working environment. If it is appropriate, I incorporate light humor to make conversations enjoyable and engaging.
