Leadership

Culturally competent, spiritually sensitive,

and trauma-informed.

Our story

Our owner and CEO, Albert McIntosh, had served many years in administration for a private foster care agency.  Simultaneously, he had been working extra hours seeing clients in a mental health agency as a result of his deep passion for direct practice.  This passion grew into an act of faith and in August of 2014, Hope Behavioral Health was founded as a one-man group private practice in a small, shared office space in Cleveland Heights.

Albert’s practice quickly grew as colleagues sought him out to partner in his mission and vision to provide culturally competent, spiritually sensitive, and trauma informed services.  Within one year, Hope Behavioral Health had 4 offices (3 housed in local churches) and 8 therapists.  Albert and his wife, Donna, who serves as the practice’s spiritual care director, will be the first to tell you that the Lord’s vision for Hope Behavioral Health was far greater than they had ever thought or imagined.

Today, we are blessed to have over 50 therapists in 7 offices and 3 schools throughout NE Ohio.   It all started with HOPE.

“And hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”  Romans 5:5
