Education
I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Ohio, in a Consortium with BGSU, in 1998. I will graduate in December 2025 from Ashland Theological Seminary with my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I recently passed my NCE licensure exam and am awaiting official licensure.
License:
Counselor Trainee
Experience:
I have worked as a Physical Therapist with kids and adults in school, outpatient, rehabilitation, and skilled settings. I have been with Hope Behavioral Health since January 2025, working as a CT in the outpatient and high school settings. I am EMDR Level 1 and 2 trained and working toward certification, and have completed Gottman Level 1 for couples.
Personal statement:
I am a client-centered counselor dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where individuals and families can explore challenges, discover strengths, and work toward growth. My approach to counseling is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and a belief in each person’s inherent resilience and capacity for change. I integrate evidence-based practices—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and strength-based interventions—with a holistic understanding of factors that shape each client’s experience. I am especially passionate about working with adolescents, teens, young adults, and families navigating differences, trauma, and adjustment issues. I strive to walk with clients in setting realistic goals that promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, healthier relationships, and wellness.
